My Little Sedan Build
Some of you may know of my sedan from ZDAYZ and from being around here on the forum.
Anyway a little back ground on my car. It’s a 04 6MT sedan that had been running a stock block TN setup for a little over a year. Here are a few pic of the car with the old wheel/tire combo and TN setup.
Back in February of this year while playing around with a head, cams and spray Z06 my car decided to blow the head gasket and lay down on me. Well after several months of debating on replacing the head gasket, building the VQ and keeping the TN or building and going twins, decided to ………. do a 2JZ Swap! I knew that Tech2 motorsports had put together a kit and had their car at SEMA and thought that would be cool in my Sedan. I know that a lot of guys on here are going to think what the f*ck!! First let me say that I love the VQ and think it’s a great engine. I must also say that I have always loved the 2J and a great opportunity arose for this swap to take place. After selling off 100% of the drive train, engine, ecu, wiring harness, and turbo set up I will be out less money than I would have been doing a built block TT setup (all labor is being performed at no cost to me on this setup).
Ok on to the build:
2JZ-GTE with ECU
Tech2 350Z Swap Kit
PTE67 Turbo (.71 cold side/.89 hot side)
3 Row Greedy Intercooler
100% Custom Fabricated Turbo Piping (Hot and Cold Side)
R154 Tranny
Competition Clutch Custom Twin Disk setup
Ebay Manifold (just for now to get it up and running will be upgraded to HKS later)
Turbosmart 48mm Wastegate
850cc Denso Injectors
Map ECU (AEM Coming Later)
Custom driveshaft
Tech2 Wiring Harness
BOV (undecided what kind)
Here are some parts and progress pics:
48mm wastegate
Fuel System:
HKS fuel rail
Regulator and filter
MAP ECU
Here are a few pics of the first mock up.
Here is the motor in the car for the first test fit...
Other side. The intake manifold is out for polishing.
And one with the Turbo half installed
Huge thanks to the guys at TDC for taking this project and making it happen!!!!
More updates coming soon!!!

We pulled the engine back out of the car yesterday. We've got everything lined up, and all the parts will be washed and final assembly will begin next week, or as time allows. Be looking for start up videos within the month.

Tech2 motorsports makes a custom wiring harness to run all of the dash less the RPM gauge. We think that we can get the RPM gauge to work using a dekota box. But at worst case the only thing that will not work is the rpm gauge. If we can not get it to work we will hide a tach light in the air condition vent to know when I am redlining.

The R154 is out for a total rebuild before it goes in. We don't want any surprises out of 15 year old tranny. On top of the rebuild, we'll be upgrading the thrust washer, which is a common problem on the R154.
