Do a top mount turbo, a rear mount turbo, a mid mount turbo, and a regular TT kit. you will get the best bang for your buck.
You get rear end power, top end power, mid range power, plus the power from the regular set ups

I hate to be an *** but your just as new as he is... so it's the blind leading the blind, your missing ALOT of important info that is the FI Forum Sticky.
ya, like 1300$ for a "rebuild kit"....no need for a machinist or any of that other crap, just get some rods and pistons and put it together.

I know Im missing a ton of stuff, but this gives him an idea of what he should do to the strengthen the block. and i hate to sound like a ***, but its not Rocket scientist.
bro are you looking at just the turbos, or the turbos with the intercooler? because that damn intercooler's pretty heavy man. be careful your throw you back out heavin that sucker. lift with both legs and aim for the roof.I find it obscures your view less than on the hood or back hatch.
also I suggest bubble gum and duct tape if your on a budget and don't wanna spring for the super glue and duct tape. I know some people will flame me for this because they don't think it'll hold, but it's held my buddies "custom wing on for years" so don't listen the haters.
ps I hear a hope and a prayer doesn't hold up well for most

What about mounting a single turbo in the passenger side firewall like dede? That way when the op pulls up to race wars he won't be loosing to some kid in an s2k...

There's a crap load of people on this forum that are boosted and don't have built blocks. Each car is different but most of the engines are good to about 350-400whp... Yes some people have blown their VQ at 400ish so keep that in the back of your head. You gave him a number that is but a fraction of what the kit is going to cost to build a block, I dropped about $14k in parts alone on a Greddy Tuner. You forgot to mention fuel delivery and Engine Management. By the way... Rods are the weak link in the VQ and the oil pump is weaker in the DE than the REV Up/HR. I'm not trying to be hurtful but the truth hurts, Advice is usually given by those who are either boosted or did a **** ton of research on various kits and you have neither. You really need to read the FI sticky's and watch this vid:
