i replaced mine with the OEM part... and i'm VERY careful how i touch it. its something to do with the oil on our skin, i think. because it doesnt scratch except where you grab the handle (on mine at least).

My driver side int. door handle is doing this also. I think my wedding ring is helping, but it still shouldn't be scratching like this...and the car is only 4 months old, and I keep an immaculate car.

Mine was scratched when i bought the car (used) but I just assumed it was the previous owner being abusive. I bought it with 18k miles and the rest of the interior is perfect except for the door handle. It's really annoying...

Most every Z Ive seen that been owned longer than a few months have these same issues.....Mine look just like that and the Silver part of the steering on the left side is worse than that...Strange that the right side silver part is a whole lot better...The center console by where my right knee is is all scratched up...I dont have artificial hard plastic/metal kneecaps so I dont know how those scratches get there.....My car looked old inside after just a few months...Lets not talk about the paint job

Dude wtf, mine is an 08 that i have had for not even a month and the side driver door pull or w/e has 4 blemishes already. Coming from a brand new Lexus ES350 and brand new IS250 to this pisses me off, makes me think nissan is ****ing cheap ****.

I came to a conclusion that it can be fron the sun rays entering the car. The lighter the tint in the car the more sunlight comes in so the hotter it gets. And over time it just gets worst. I think i might just throw a 35% tint in the front windshield to help my 15% sides do the job better.

Bought my 07 brand new 6 months ago and I have the same scratches on the door switch panel. Very poor materials used.
Since I want some carbon fiber interior pieces, I ordered a set of EVO-R's carbon fiber door switch covers on Friday. Since the smooth door handle barrels look like the same material, I ordered carbon fiber set of those, too. I plan on getting the full center console once a vendor has a set available.
Anyhoot, this should "fix" my frustration with the INTERIOR scratches. However, the frustration with the EXTERIOR paint.........still goes on. At least I bought a clear bra for the bumper and lights.

I've had both an 06 and an 08 and have encountered this problem. It doesn't matter how meticulous you are, at least a few of these blemishes are going to pop up. It would be nice if we could somehow get the factory paint code for the black trim.

how come I dont see a company making something to replace or fix this? I'll be more than happy to pay for some covers IN BLACK or ALUMINUM. I dont like carbon fiber cause thats the only thing available!
