Lone Star Chapter BMW announces Autocross #2 - April 9, 2011

Registration is now open for the 2011 LSC BMWCCA AX #2 Saturday, April 9, 2011.



Even if you've never tried autocross before, come on out at give it a try. Instructors are provided. Or, ask for a ride with an instructor to see if you might enjoy it. Rides with an instructor and admission are free!

More information can be found on the LSC BMWCCA website http://www.lscbmwcca.org/autocross-schedule.html, and if you want to drive in the event you must register. Cost is $25 for BMWCCA members, but non-members can register for $35 which allows you to try it out one time.

Registration for 2011 events will be 100% online. We will not accept payment on site! Online registration is available until 9PM the Thursday before each event and opens three Mondays prior to the event.


Tech Inspection
All participant vehicles must pass Tech Inspection on site.
Tech Inspection begins at 8am and will close at 9am.

Mandatory Driver's meeting at 9am.

First car will start around 9:30am.

Usually have 4 runs in the morning heat and 4 runs in the afternoon heat, per driver.

Rides in instructor vehicles are free. A helmet must be worn. There are loaner helmets available for those that do not own their own helmet. (Helmets must be rated M-2005 or SA-2005 or newer)

crap, io gotta choose between this and the event on the 16th.... this one is tempting as instructors are there as well....

I've already called Jake on it and I'm trying to get him to go as well. I would muchrather go to this one as I have to work on Sundays and I thought I was gonna die last Sunday at work after autocross cuz yay was like a 26 hour day for me with three hours of sleep lol. I really want to go to this one. Also the one on the 9th with PCA I believe is like $60. I could be wrong and someone might wanna double check thy before they take my word for it. Regardless I really like mineral wells as it's such a large course and you get over 100 second laps versus the 38-48 laps that we are used to.

Just looked at maverick pca's website. They have an autocross academy on the 9th that is $60 and they have an autocross on Sunday the 10th that says $30 for members so probably like $35 for us. I would still rather go to this one with BMW since it's on my day off and we get the hella long runs lol

Idk but probably not. Just some good ole seat time lol. I copy and pasted the sign up sheet so that's why it says VQ champ on there. That would be up to Gavin to decide since he is the president.

 

Damon, this will not be included in the VQ challenge....Gavin is the President of the VQ club this year....and there has to be 2 weeks between each AutoX event for it to be Legit....I think ??? ANyways...since it is past the time frame, it is not one of the Venue's Gavin has scheduled.

In any case I think I will be there as well....about 75% right now. Any body else ? Adam ?....Jake ? ....Jody ?....Eric ?....Bueller ?

Holey Crap thats going to be a long corse. But it looks like you don't need to stop around every turn like PCA made us do.

No, this is not part of the VQ Championship, as Chris said 2 weeks off minimum between events and at least one month notice required. There are some exceptions built into the rules but none with the schedule I've got going so far.

It appears as if we've sparked some interest with the local clubs for them to be posting on the Z forum regularly now.

I think many of us will participate in a couple of BMW hosted events this year. It may behoove use to become members. Your member registration is currently down. Can you tell us the cost.

Also, how strict is your policy on allowing non-members to participate only once? Say if we decide not to become a member.

Bad news, I can't go. Michelles nieces birthday party is that day and she will be livid if I don't go to that. I've already tried to get out of it and she's not having it lol so I guess I will see you guys on the 16th
