No, stay home and try again next year. It's too risky.

Pro Racing Advice - Can't Decide
Here is my situation. I race Super Stock in the NHRA and IHRA. Currently I stand fifth in IHRA in my division (region) in points. I have only run 3 of 5 races. There are no more races left this season (missed the first two). However, there is one more race left in the IHRA but it is out of division and I get points for it. If I win or runner up the race I will win my division (region). I have no chance at winning the national points race only my area (division).
Factors:
Race win will pay 3 G's
Winning your division pays 2 G's and free entry fee to all of next years races (125 each). Plus the glory of being numero uno.
Cool huh? Here is my problem:
I live in Dallas, TX. The only race left is in Wisconsin.
I will have to take 2 days off work to get there and back. I only have 7 more days to take this year total. The drive is really long and I have to pull two race cars in a large trailer. I could lose in the first round and waste my time, money and days off work.
Should I go to the race????

It's tough, but I think you should go...(but that's cuz I'm tired of my job so I'd take any excuse to leave work at this point).
Are you saving those days off for anything?
Will they let you take a couple days without pay?
Will you always be wondering, "What if?"
Is there anything cool between Texas and Wisconsin that you could do in case you do loose early (just so the trip isn't a total waste)?
Good luck either way!

Well the days are paid days off so I can use them if something with friends comes up or for paid sick days, etc. I don't actually know if I have non-paid days off, I probably wouldn't hang out in mid america at any point during the trip whatever the results, and I think I could def. live with myself if I did not go. I am just scared of wasting a lot of my precious resources, but hey no risk no return. But I can't decide...

I say go for it.
You definitely only live once, think about 20 years from now if you don't go for it. You'll look back at those you worked and wonder what would have happened if you had taken your shot at the championship!!
Then again, its your time and money so ultimately, you'll have to make the decision whats more important.
If it were me, I'd go for it without a doubt. Sometimes you just gotta throw your nuts on the choppin block and let er rip!!!
