I've owned and driven many Porsches, they are great, and for the most part I like all of them. When I was 16, I saved up and bought a 914, loved it, still love them, might get another one one day. Owned a 924 (yeah, I know, it was a mistake), a 944, and still own a 911. Time came to get a new car and while I considered buying another Porsche, 18 years of owning and driving Porsches was enough for me. Needed a change, bought a Z.

If you like a 944, then I think a 350z is a good replacement. It has a similar feel (the 944's always had a very good cockpit feel, everything was where it should be). Like some others have said, it was a fun car in the 80's, but it's not something I'd drive now.

You can get a used 911 (95-99-ish) for around $35K, but I honestly think you'd be as happy with a base Z for $27K. As I said, I've driven Porsches for years and do love them, but I think you'll find the Z a very decent car for the price. It's new, it's attractive, people always comment on it, and it's fun to drive. I'm nto a Z fanatic just yet, but I do enjoy the car and I don't regret getting it. I haven't sold the 911 yet either

That's actually the one Porsche I've never owned nor driven. I've seen them, up close, and it wasn't something I personally wanted to own. I felt dirty owning the 924/944's as they weren't air cooled heh.

I mean if some Z owner flamed your 20 year old car or your mullet or your Quiet Riot cassette tape in another post, keep it in that post. You rolling around banging your fists on the floor and whining about how unfair the world is doesn't deserve its own thread. I for one couldn't give a crap less what you drive. If you have a 944 Turbo, GREAT! Good for you!!!! I hope the seats are cloth...It absorbs tears better. Now go find the porsche forum and tell them all what a bunch of asses we Z owners are. Punk.
