[Houston]: Building my VQ35DE for more boost...
#121
There are plenty of people that have never had any issues with +12 - +22 offset in the front, mild drops, and around -2º camber (me included). I'm guessing your tires run wide, if anything.
BTW, most people on the forums have offset between +12 and +22 in the front, especially the Volk guys, and none of them ever complain about rubbing.

The Hotchkis Springs lowered the car:
Front: 9/16" (-15mm)
Rear: 3/4" (-19mm)
Tein Comfort Sports:
Front: .47" (-12mm) Adjustable range of: +1.38" (+35mm) to -1.97" (-50mm)
Rear: .39" (-10mm) Adjustable range of: +0.55" (+14mm) to -0.63" (-16mm)

read the thread...
It said you had bad experiences with the C6. Wouldn't that platform have been better for getting the power to the ground that you are expecting? Or is there some problem with the C6s I don't know about? i've just heard the answer to every problem is "sell car, buy Z06"

The C6 ZO6 is a great performer, no doubt. Can make a lot of power. Somewhat good looking. However I don't want a C6 ZO6. For that money I would be in a GT-R or CTS-V. But my problem is I can not keep any car I own stock. So I figured I would just finish my 350Z since it's paid off. That's the big kicker with all of this build. No car payment.

Robert, you are building the right platform... the Z can be reliable and fun to drive, you know that driven hard a Z06 self destruct in any left turn from a bad designed semi dry sump... Sad part in pretty much any modern car is that they are designed to be run -stock- or at best with some factory performance parts (expensive as hell and nothing better than good aftermarket)...

Thanks Matteo! After working at EG for 10 months I always enjoyed driving my 350Z home over the ZO6's that I fixed or added power to.
So an update on my build....
First the headlights I ordered from 350ZSource they don't stock, they drop ship and not ETA. Cancel that order and found them at Courtesy Nissan.
Went ahead and order the tires from TireDirect.com; Toyo R888 265/30/19 & 305/30/19. Being shipped to EVS Motor so they can be mounted/balanced on their new Hunter Road Force GSP9700 Balancer.
Spoke with PowerFab and still waiting on the engine to get back from G&G and IPP. The Tein coil overs should be driving soon and, of course, still waiting on the HalTech Plug-In Pro. Lastly, PowerFab saw a timing chain failure so we're going to replace that while we have the engine out & opened.
Everything is falling into place slowly. Now if I can just have the Iraq Gov't grant us Visas so I can get home everything would be perfect!!!

Well I received an e-mail stating that the Tein Comfort Sports have been discontinued. I was really sold on them as I'm not looking for a stiff coilover but yet wanted more adjustability and damper control. I'm now researching options and have looked at the MonoFlex and Tanabe Sustec Pro-Five w/ TEAS. Other options or thoughts?
