Finally Painted Wheels
Hopefully I will upgrade next year to some 370z sport or 350z anniversary wheels.
When I was younger I liked how the base wheels looked versus the touring so changed them. I couldn't take how faded the paint on them were, so I used plastidip.

Wheels resurfaced and painted!
Hey all,
I love the 25th anniversary rims and I wanted to give them more of an aggressive look. So here is my before and after of getting the rims resurfaced and painted. The difference is not strong, but just a slight look followed with a hyper silver. I personally love how they came out. I didn't want black, or crazy dark grey. Just little changes. Tell me what you think!
**The first pic is before. Second pic is after. Third is just an added extra.**

What I'm not feeling: the tint is too dark, takes away the "clean" look. Don't like the "Nismo" emblem, reminds me of Hondas putting "Type R" badges on. The aero kit doesn't flow well together, the front is too shovel like or I just don't like the ebay lip. The sides are too flat and rear looks bulky compared to the rest.

Powder Coating Wheels(Color Help!!!)
Ok guys so i love the stock rims on my san marino blue 07z but want a different color to set them apart from all the rest. I was thinking of maybe a deep bronze or copper looking color. Don't really want gold since that is more common color.
I need some help on deciding and what better place to ask.haha

My OEM Rays were pretty scratched up so I decided to play around with them to make them look nicer at the track. I chose to keep the silver on bronze theme and used Duplicolor Bronze.
I sanded the entire surface of the wheels for proper paint adhesion. I then sprayed three coats of wheel primer, which required four cans of paint. Then I hit them with two light coats of bronze, which used one entire can of paint. I have two more cans of the bronze and plan to do several more coats. Then I will hit them with a few coats of clear. I will post more pictures of the progress.
UPDATE 11/1/14:
The weather has been really cold here in Chicago and with work and being a husband it is hard to find free time to work on "car stuff." I got a third coat of bronze on the face of the wheels. I think I will be doing another coat on the face before I start the clear coat. I will probably end up with only 2 coats on the barrels but I believe that will be okay since they are flat with no detail. Additional pics added.
UPDATE 11/13/14:
Monday and Tuesday were the last days I had before this stupid polar vortex hit Chicago so I was able to dedicate my evenings to finishing this project. All in All, on the face of the wheels; there is about 4 coats of bronze and 4 coats of clear. They still need to be wet sanded but I'm saving that for when the tires are mounted in case I need to touch up any chips. Tires are getting mounted tomorrow and I should have these on the car by the weekend. Additional pics added below.

For my Nismo Roadster build, I wanted to replicate the gunmetal rims on the Nismo Z without buying the expensive OEM Nismo rims and incurring their heavy weight. I found some Track edition rims which are truly very light as you all know. They were in rough condition. First I sanded some of the curb rash and filled the edge with metal filler and sanded some more. Then I primed, painted and clear coated the rims. Finally, I had exact replica Nismo declas made and applied those and clear coated the decals.
Here is the result:
