2009 Nissan 370Z Hankook Ventus S1 Evo Review: Steering Response, Durability, and Performance

By -

Hankook’s max performance summer tire offering is the Ventus S1 evo. Developed exclusively for the drivers of sports cars, sporty coupes and high performance sedans such as the 2009 Nissan 370Z, this tire boasts outstanding road-holding ability and steering response. By minimizing distortion at high speeds and high temperatures, the Ventus S1 evo more than proves its durability in extreme conditions.

Hankook’s Highly Dispersible Silica (HDS) compound is highlighted in this tire, and is molded into an attractive, sporty-looking asymmetric tread design. Continuous ribs in the tread reduce noise while increasing longitudinal stiffness–enhancing braking performance on dry roads. Large shoulder notches along with wide circumferential grooves help water flow through the tire’s footprint to resist hydroplaning. The tire’s internal structure is made up of two steel belts and reinforced by high-density, two-ply, spirally wound jointless nylon. In addition, a two-layer rayon body sandwiches a hard sidewall filler between the cord plies to aid in resisting distortion at high speeds as well as while cornering.

Available in many different sizes, the S1 evo offers hardcore Z enthusiasts a vast selection to shod their wheels with. From 225/40R17 to 295/25R20, there’s a proper fitment for any possible wheel size you might choose. The Hankook Ventus S1 evo is an effective and affordable alternative to the more expensive offerings from European tire manufacturers.

Hankook is no slouch getting under some American Le Mans racers and an F430 GT in the European series. Has it gone from an alternative to a mainstay for you? Which size do you use for your Fair Lady? What are the goods and the bads?
