I had a 1998 Mustang coupe, and my 2003 "Z" costs me only $220 more per year to insure, with the exact same coverage.

I got quotes from my agent (for exact same coverage) between an '06 base 350Z and an '06 Mustang GT. The Mustang GT would have cost me $600 more. (I'm 54 years old, married, with no violations, accidents or tickets for last eight years).

Same 300hp and about same MSRP price for both cars.

The Allstate agent explained that "There is a perceived difference between the driver of a Mustang GT and that of a 350Z."

So you kids better keep up our great image!

All best,
Joe

Weird, I traded my '01 wrangler for the Z and mine went down to about 100 per month for full coverage..

Don't forget your credit rating affects your insurance rates

I pay 212/month for an 02 C5, 04 Lexus Rx 330, and 06 350Z--all have full coverage and $100 deductable.

My bike (05 ZX-6R) is through Progressive as well and costs a whopping $220/year for liability--why have more on a $7500 bike?

That is why! Mine actually only went up $50 over 6 months from my 96 Maxima. Kids think these things are toys. They need to be a bit more responsible, but at least it costs them. A friend of mine bought her daughter one and her insurance is more then 5x mine. Seems fair since she is only 19. If you are high risk, you will be high paying.
