I plan on keeping the car a while so I got the warranty. (it is also transferrable)
84 months - 100,000 miles for $1300.00 at the dealership on delivery!
I hope I do not ever need it but its nice to know its there if I do!

There are definetly differing opinions on this subject.
I suggest you try a forum search for "extended warranty". I just did, and you will find quite a few threads where this has been discussed.
As for me, I had no plans on buying it, and did not buy it. The funny thing is, my dealer did not even try to sell me it, let alone even suggest it. I bought from the fleet manager, who has been at this dealership for 16 years, so it wasn't like she wouldn't be aware of the profitability of selling ext'd warranties.
I think she didn't offer it for one or more of the following reasons:
1. Being the fleet manager, maybe she doesn't get any personal financial benefit (commission) from selling the warranty.
2. Since I was paying cash, the cost of the warranty stands out so much more then if you are financing, and they can sell you on "it's only $15 per month for peace of mind".
3. I was buying a base model, and she figured I was poor, cheap, or frugal.
She and I had a good business relationship during the 7 month wait, and I really think that if the warranty was something that would have significantly benefited me, she would have suggessted I buy it. Instead, she wrote up the cash contract, and the only mention of the warranty was when she was asking me to initial in various places, one of which was stating that I do not want the extended warranty.

Well, the Z's have had a pretty good reliability reputation for a while now, so it might not be so bad on this car....
But, personally, I probably would take it, just to be safe... but that's just the way I was borught up...
