Default New popcharger....dead Z....HELLLLLP!

Well I tell ya, I was nervous about the popcharger from the get-go, but I just had to install it and see what would happen. Put it on last night....no problems at all. Told my girlfriend (jokingly) to have her cell phone on in case I stalled out and needed a ride home. Took the car out for a spin down the highway......it drove just fine under normal acceleration, but when I turned around to come home I decided to open her up. 1st and 2nd gears pulled fine, but at the top (4000rpm) of 3rd gear, all power just left....kaPUT. It was NOT mid-shift like a lot of guys have reported with their popchargers. This was all gas pedal! Anyway, I pulled it over (still running, but no acceleration power at all. The RPM's were struggling to stay alive, then my sweet baby died.

I could restart it, but it just couldn't hold an idle without stalling out. I had it towed to a friend's house and will put the old equipment back on tomorrow, but I'm worried that I damaged the mass air flow unit. Otherwise, why would it run fine the first time, but then kill out and not be able to restart and idle on subsequent starts?

Any help or thoughts would be GREATLY appreciated.

P.S. As I mentioned in some earlier threads over the past couple weeks, I will sell the popcharger if it stalls my car one single time. Well it did, so there's a JWT popcharger for sale! Used only for 15 minutes! Seriously, any takers?

Sounds like your mass airflow sensor is contaminated. Take it out and clean it and wipe down the intake tube.
I would take the air cleaner out, set it on a rag or paper towels and blow compressed air through it to draw out excess oil in the filter.

Well, hopefully when I get the original filter and box back on, it'll be back to normal. Would hate to have messed something up with the mass air. That sounds costly!

I've had mine on 8k miles without one single problem. I'm sure there's thousands of others like me too.

I had problems with the engine stalling out after my motor was replaced. The guys at Nissan didn't install the filter on tight. It had fallen onto the heat shield. Make sure everything is on tight or you will stall out.

Get a K&N, Blitz or Nismo drop-in.

they are drop-in high flow replacements, much less costly and will use the stock airbox plus give improved air flow and not create an issue with warranty.

Same thing happened to me too. I could not start the car after it stalled on me. The dealer said the ECU code got messed up or something... so they refleshed the ECU and everything was fine.

I did put the stock air filter back, before towing it to the dealership. Even after putting back the stock one, car would not start, needed a ecu reflesh to start.

I put the JWT pop charger back on the car later with my crawford headers and got my ecu redone again, works perfect since.
