I chose Sirius because back then XM had commercials on their 80's music channel, and being an 80's nut that was unacceptable. XM has sinced removed the commercials from that channel, but I have been very happy with Sirius. I am now tuned to their Classic Rewind channel and am happy all day long.

Check this thread for pics and info on my install.

Default Bose 6 CD HU w/ Sirius

You may want to try a Free 3 day test in their respective websites & listen in on their available channels. Also, here's a Sirius website to give you additional information from current subscribers:

Look at the overall packages. I think it depends on what you want it for. I know one has complete NFL coverage, the other NBA. One is getting Howard Stern, the other has Opie & Anthony in the morning (radio talk shows). I would look at what each one offers completely and make a decision based on that.

I've had Sirius in rental cars and it was better than the XM programming I experienced in my dads truck IMHO.

But for me I'd choose none.....I like choosing what songs I wanna hear. Get an iPod and a connection to your car stereo and hit random.....that's where it's at.

I've been a happy camper since installing my XM Roady. Good news is that there's enough reception up here in Ottawa, Canada to get very few signal losses except when around tall buildings. Our local rock stations sucks so I listen to Squizz (48) all the time.

As for the install. I placed the receiver in the empty Nav console and then removed the Bose HU faceplate and installed the Cassette adaptor and reattached the faceplate. That way the cassette is in use but you can't see the cable. Finally a use for that pathetic cassette deck (who uses cassettes in this day and age?).

I placed the antenna in the rear center brake light schroud.

Sound is quite good, better than a modulator I've been told.

I see XM has a larger market share, more than double.

This is similar to the ReplayTV V. Tivo debate.

ReplayTV > Tivo, but Tivo is the brand name, like Kleenex and Band-aid.

I have had XM for over a year. I like it a lot - but after listening to Sirius (It came as part of Dish Network's satelite TV service), I realized that I should have chosen Sirius. And that's what we'll put in the wife's car soon. Sirius just has better programming.

I got XM for both my cars because of Opie and ANthony, and would do it again in a heart beat. I have to admit some of the rock channels play some obscure stuff, but the urban hip hop stuff is good, and with a little searching you can usually find something to listen to. Hell if there is nothing you can just throw on O&A and listen to the show all day long (its live from 6-10est and replays the rest of the day). THe only thing i don't like is that you have to pay extra for the online access if you want it. But the new MYFI is amazing, it goes everywhere just like a walkman, in buildings stairs, and is worth the 300 bucks. Comes with the kit, and fits great in the Z. I would def go with xm, they have a strong base, more subs, and seem to be closer to showing a profit.

Hell i own stock in both, and both made me alot of money, but After trying both Sirrius and XM i like XM alot better.. hope that helps

Just installed Sirius this past weekend and I love it. I never heard XM so I can't compare but I enjoy all the commercial free stations. Just found the comedy channel today, it's great.
