First 1200 miles, don't rev past 4000 RPM, could be lower I forget.

No long distance driving. Vary your speeds for the first 1200 miles.

After that, enjoy. BTW, I am in my break-in period as well.

Best advice right there. You wouldn't even be asking this question if you did read it

I thought that following the manual break-in could have negative effects when you start to run the car hard and to redline becuase the piston rings would be set for a lower RPM.

I followed the break in recs but redlined it once every 100 miles after about 300 miles.

Break-in period is always a controversial subject... personally don't care what ppl do with their cars, cuz they always have different theories/beliefs on it. But if you wanna keep it simple/safe... then just follow what it says in the manual... it was put in there for a reason i'm sure.

I never understand why people will take the word of some know-it-alls over that of the people who build the car.

break-ins are overated. i follow the 5 minute break-in...5 minutes to warm up to operating temp...then drive the **** out of her. even Nissan mechanics have told me to drive it hard if thats how its going to be driven and you want it to perform.
