Default nissan extended warranty - on a used Z

I bought a used 04 a little over a month ago and it has a little less than 8500 miles on it now. I didn't purchase the 3rd party warranty form the infiniti dealership's used car department I got the car from b/c if I was going to get any warranty I wanted it to be from Nissan b/c I they they will be around in 5 years.

I saw some of the prices other members have paid for their extended warranty and they seem very reasonable. I was wondering if a dealership would be able to sell me a warranty on my used car.

I also wanted to know if it was best to get the warranty asap or if I should wait till closer to the end of my stock warranty. I saw one member claim to buy his at 32k miles for about the same price as others were paying for them new.

Yes you can by it up the expiration of the standard warranty, the price might be a little more but not much.

The earlier you buy it, the cheaper it is.

When I got my used Z from the dealer, we were able to get the extended warranty for something like $700. It was absurdly cheap. We had a set figure we wanted to finance and the finance dude just chopped the warranty price down until it worked out with our #'s. Originally we were quoted like $1200 for it.

You can also get a similar extended warranty through most credit unions. The price is somewhat cheaper compared to a dealer. But the credit union typically wants you to get it ASAP.

But yeah, the sooner you get it the better and cheaper it'll be.
