Default Anyone commute in their Z

Well I used to have a 2 mile drive to work. Now it's going to be 40 miles one way. 5 days a week.

What are the opinions of the board on this? Do you like the car as a commuter? I have A LOT of mods done....guess I also better upgrade the stereo since I'll be spending so much time in the car now.

It's an 03 with only 17k miles on it. Mobil 1 all the way.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

you should buy a cheap beater car for the commute. that way you dont rack up your mileage.

Was thinking about it. But one problem with that. This is a big position I got. I dont want to be taking my boss out to lunch in a beater lol

I definately agree. The best money I've spent on the Z was the money spent on buying a 95 Maxima for commuting and going places that the Z doesn't want to be.

Just bring the Z on days when you want to take the boss out to lunch. There is no rule saying you cant bring the Z even if you have a beater. Use it when you need it, save it when you dont.

I still don't get why people are so worried about racking up miles. Its a $30k sports car, not some 1970 classic. It meant to be driven. I don't know about you guys but I plan to drive mine whenever I can and as much as I can.

I dont really worry about the miles on mine. I definately drive it as often as possible. I have to deal with the Massachusetts winter, which is presently dumping almost 2 feet of snow on me today, so I needed another car to get to work sometimes. I take the Z out as whenever the ground is dry though. It's also nice to have something to transport stuff in when the need arises due to the fact that I used up all the storage space in the Z with stereo equipment. I have no trunk or glove compartment left!

On the road more/longer = greater chance of getting in an accident or hurting your Z. That's enough for me

For the past month I've had a 50 mile commute during rush hour in Houston traffic (although against the flow of most traffic). I've enjoyed every minute with the Z. I wouldn't consider getting a commuter car...I bought the Z to have fun in it, and it's fun to fly down the freeway. The car is eminently capable, and you've gotta love the way she pulls from 75 in 6th...no need to downshift!

during the summer i had a commute of around 25 miles each way to where i was working. it was about half highway and half city. i enjoyed driving the z every minute of it (except when it was raining and i was on worn tires...that sucked)... but yea anyway the point is i love driving the Z, and it's not a car that i think i have to worry about putting a bunch of miles on, so why drive a beater?

I got my Z in October of 2002 and I 47,600k on mine. When I bought the car I put a 100,000k warranty on it. Miles will not hurt your car not driving the Z will kill it more than anything. Why buy the thing if you are not going to drive it. Act like you are use to having nice sh%t !
