Is this how a Z owner should be treated at a dealer?

Alot of infiniti dealers are major scumbags also.

Lucky for you, the 2 dealer same owner, that we got over on our side of the fence is a total freaking joke of a dealer... but to be just a tiny bit fair, they are better than the nissan dealers, now those guys would be a whole different story.

So let me get this straight, the guy treats you like crap from your first visit and you still let him service you car?

He calls you and is still rude and you continue letting him service your car?

He wants to drive your car during his lunch break and you let him, while still letting him service your car?

If you went into a Sub-Way and they were rude, threw the food at you, and treating you like a pest, would you take it?

I would have told him I'm coming to pick my car up, told his service manager what a ***** he was and continued on my way to a dealership that wants to provide service, it's not a favor you are begging for it's service that is expected.

I had this same problem with a dealer and rude service filled a complaint with Nissian and the Dealer owner. Of course the service guy wanted to be my best friend afterwards

I told him don't touch my car, picked it up and took it to another dealer and the service was 200 times better.

Just did the gas tank filler lid fix myself this morning after getting the parts in. The dipshits at my service dept so far has been of no help. Basically its the same "cant reproduce the problem" ******** so i decided instead of waiting 3 hours to let them fix it id do it myself in 5 minutes. Seems to be working ok now.

With my current experiecne with NISSAN sevice I had decided that the warranty on this Z is just for major problems i.e. engine, tranny etc.... Now after reading this post im beginning to wonder if its just totally worthless. Unfortunately my service dept is the only NISSAN game in town without driving 30 or 50 miles to another dealership.

Absolutely.

The free loaners, better trained personnel, nicer building have to be payed for somehow.

But as long as you are in warranty it wont matter and the aggravation saved..is significant.

Typical hourly rates ( depedning on location I am talking about average prced regions in country not NYC or SoCal), Nissan dealer 65-80/hr Infiniti dealer 95-115/ hr.

Parts are a bit more too (but I suspect they may get better QC if Infiniti parts vs but the warranty is so much longer

A local dealer by us opened his service department for us to use. We were able to wash our cars and work on them, it was very cool

Sorry to hear about your troubles, but you shouldn't look at it like Nissan sucks. Clearly the service guy does and so does the dealership, but they are not Nissan. Every manufacturer has crappy dealerships.

This leads me to the second item. The dealership cannot void the warranty on your car, they are not the manufacturer. Only Nissan can void the warranty and then only after proving that you had done something to enable them to void the warranty.

I would definitely document, in writing, all of your dealings and problems with this person and delearship. I'd be careful about taping conversations. Yes you could do it, but it can be illegal in some states and counties, so check with your local laws.

Good luck.
