Texas Instruments has said that no car has been stolen with an immobilizer but then I read this.....

Well one looks like they would have to be right up on you with some funky looking device.

Two, looks like a tinfoil wrapped key would put an end to it. So someone could just develop a special sleave that your key goes into that also looks stylish.
