Question Car has jsut been hit. Very Light. Bumper Change. Got Questions.

Ok so i was jsut in a parking lot and the guy pulling out didnt see my car and hit the front right. It's very minor scratches and bends, but nissan is not one of the sturdiest cars out there. Anyway, the bumper and right fender will have to be replaced for sure, now the guy has insurance and i got all his details. He was very curtious about everything, adn since it's a very minor hit i didnt make a big deal out of it.

Anyway my question is: i could just go minimum and get everything replaced, or i could get a "step-up" bumper for just a little bit more. How does this work exactly, as far as insurance goes, i definatelly dont want to screw the guy over, but if it's not going to make much of a difference for him i figured might as well go for something better.

Dont want to come off as some scamming whiny bastard, just curious.

i have no clue how much this is going to cost.. and how this whole thing si going work with his insurance (Allstate).

his insurance should send someone out to look at your car and then cut you a check for that amount. which you can then use to fix your car with a different bumper. get your own estimate so that you don't get screwed by allstate.

you can check stock part prices here.

If there's very minor scratches & bends, they will probably repair the parts, not replace them. Let's see some pix, I'll let you know.

If your car is DB, and u get a new set of custom fenders, like the sarona which i think look good, and u replace your stock one, i will buy your left hand driver side fender.

What he said.

The only thing is some insurancce companies work through autobody shops. In other words they pay the shop not you. So if this is the case make friends with a shop near you and they will buy your new aftermarket bumper for you and have you pay the difference from the OEM one.
