I hate the thought of someone in car that I don't know...kinda like someone alone roaming around my apt...it is part of my personal space....I never valet, always choose to park it myself.
no valet for me
i use to be a valet also and ive seen it all. seein my co-workers takin change/money from ppls cars, doin laps and burnouts in the parking lot, taking cars out for joyrides, o and the best of all, my co-workers sleepin in ppls cars when there tired...
theres probably legit valets out there that dont allow this kind of behavior but all the bad things just outweighs the good benefits

zul8r, We both work for the same companies!! I valet at the Ritz on the beach in Naples. It's a great job, and the money is great. Although horror stories abound about valeting cars, the majority of the people I work with are respectful individuals. Again, this is a 5 star, 5 diamond property, so we screen our employees a bit more carefully. As mentioned before, drop the doormen at least $10 and have them ramp the car (leave it up top in what I guess you would call VIP reserved parking) if you are very concerned about your car. I drive Porsches, Aston Martins and Ferrari's on a day to day basis, yet I have not once run one ragged. Just remember, money talks!
