Default Picking up a new Z tomorrow

Funny how things happen. My wife's lease was up on her A4 and she wanted to take over my '02 Tahoe. So I'm test driving cars last week just looking for something reasonable for the money. I had a coupon for $25 to drive a Mazda 6 and test drove that as well as an RX8. Then I went by the Honda dealer and test drove an Accord Coupe with a 6 speed. I went to the Nissan dealer to drive a 6 speed Maxima SE, but when we pulled in the dealership all I saw was a long row of 350Z's. I've really liked these cars since they came out. Actually I wanted to buy one before I bought my Tahoe but my wife wanted something we could haul stuff around in and I caved. So I reminded her of that and the promise she made when I sold my Porsche 4 years ago - that another Porsche purchase would be made in the near future.

So we test drove a yellow Enthusiast model and she fell in love with the car. Me, I couldn't stop grinning from ear to ear. We left the dealership to think about it. I started calling Internet Managers at dealerships on Monday to get some prices. I decided on a white Enthusiast model because the price was right in the target range I was searching. I would have liked 18" wheels but when I see the 17" vs. 18" on the cars, I can't notice a big difference. Its funny because the deal I got on the Z is only $1000 more than the best deal on an Accord Couple V6 6sp.

So now I have to try and work the rest of the day, take some Tylenol PM tonight so I can sleep, and wait for tomorrow morning before I can pick up my new ride.

I wish I could have picked it up. They had to get it from one of their sister dealers, who btw, wouldn't give me the deal I wanted. Then they had to install the rear spoiler. Its going to be a long night

Make sure they don't rob you any $$ from getting the car from their "sister" dealers.
Good luck and congrats.

Mine is coming from Japan (to New Zealand): bought at auction, but now have to wait several weeks for it to ship (no ETA yet). Waiting sucks!

No, it is the opposite, they give him $25 to test drive. Incentive to get you in.
