Default How come Z is not selling???

Can someone explain why Z is not selling anymore. Seems like a lot of dealers have a lot of them in stock, yet no buyers.

Just trying to figure out why.

-Is it cause of all the bad problems the Z is haveing?
-The size of the car is just way too small?
-Its just not practical?
-People dont like the way they look?

In NYC i barely see any Z's feels like they are the lost and forgotten child.

I think more people would be intersted in a G35, b/c of the extra 2 seats and also being a bit more luxurious..

Both should be simliar in price, but the G35 should cost a bit more.

I think they anticipate heavy sales. I see a hole bunch of cars on the lot that showed up all at once. Don't know if sales are down cause I see more around these streets. The weather is right for sportcars here. We'll see.

Think about the weather, we're just getting out of winter. Not a lot of people are going to buy a sports car during the winter, so I imagine they would build up. They should start selling strong again through spring and summer. I know it isn't because of all the "bad" problems, the Z doesn't a lot more problems than any other car. As for size and practicality, the Z isn't any smaller or less practical than the next sports car.

I'd have to guess its for three reasons

1) Reliability.. Z's have been having problems, i know its not that bad, but tire feathering and even little things like cheap/rattly interiors will put a lot of normal people off

2) As you said, the Z is small and not very practical. If you're gonna dump 30k on a Z, you might as well spring the extra few bucks for a g35 with back seats and a nice interior. Also, while I personally think they dont look anywhere near as good as a Z, the STI and evo have 4 seats, awd, and are acceleration monsters.. which are all things that will pull people away from the Z and into one of them.

3) I'd have to say the Z's "newness" has also worn off, everyone who saw them come out and was like DAYUM as already snatched one up, or now they are onto whatever new hotness is coming out.

but really, who knows . Could be the economy for all I know... Oh, and as someone said above, weather this year was worse than last year I believe. Its just now starting to warm up here, so more people will probably be in the mood for a sporty summer car.

Also may be the rising gas prices. Who knows. The less Zs on the road, the happier I am.

Because people are reading and doing more research on the internet before purchasing their cars these days.

Any question on repairs and reliabilty make people do more research before plopping down their hard earned money.

Shift - Nissan's reponse to feathering SUCKS!!!!!

i saw 2 in the past 4 days. both black. and they didnt stand out to me at all.

May be they are not as popular anymore who knows. just kinda strange i guess. it reminds me of my prelude. When it came out not that many were on the road. now there are so far and few in between and it has by far the best shape of a sports coupe ever IMO.

That why the modding game all start. You need to have your car stand out of the crown.

Nissan sold about 2700 Z's last month. That's not too bad considering how long it's been out. In comparison, 2300 G35c's were sold.

Yeah but the numbers are down 18% annually! This feathering BS is all over the net, I think it's finally catching up. I have a 05' with no problems but the feathering thing still crosses my mind. JMO

The car has been out for a couple years now with no major changes. People who had to have one, have probably already bought one. They are still selling at a decent rate IMO.

And I am still trying to figure out why the interior is cheap. Mine seems fine.

I think its just a general lack of interest and a rise in competition. You know have several cars in the same general price area and performance area:

350Z/G35, S2000, RX-8, EVO, and Sti are all in about the same ballpark area. Thats a lot more competition than when it first showed up.
