Pre Orders complete, dealers now getting stock
I was getting my replacement amp today and they said all their pre orders had been delivered and they had a CS (surprise, surprise) Touring 6-speed on the floor. I thought it wasn't going to be until January that dealers would start having regular (non pre order) Z's available.

Many of the pre orders have been backed out of for various reasons, and the dealers are selling them immediately to the first person willing to plunk down the cashola. I think that is more likely the case here.

I don't know what's going on, because the pre-order I thought ended way before Sept. 6 when I ordered mine, and yet I had the pre-order form, my dealer said it was a pre-order, got it for MSRP, and it was delivered in exactly 2 months, to the day.

Pre orders ended in April I believe. There was no "second allotment" except that some dealers where given a few more pre order slots than originally given.

I think what it is is that dealers are able to place orders every so often and I think they are able to get like 10 per month. If they don't have enough orders for them they are preconfiguring them and ordering them. When you go to the dealer they see what they have coming in and will either give you one on its way or order you a new one on their next order.
My dealer is still selling just about everyone before it comes in, but occasionally one makes it to the lot. There's normally a reason there is one sitting on a lot. Normally either the dealer sucks or the car they ordered is overpriced.
