Basically I will be getting my Z soon i've been looking around for a good deal.
My question or concern is "what happens" if I get a used 2003 and it has a problem with feathering or tranny, and out of warranty. am i just **** out of luck or is there anything nissan would do for me?

I think you can buy a warantee from Nissan as long as the factory warantee is still intact. or if you buy it used from a nissan dealer I think the certify it w/warantee for a few more years. If you are buying it from a personal seller or a mom and pop dealer and the warantee has expired i think thats a big risk on a 2003. Esp. since you don't know how it was driven.
BTW on the tire feathering you have 3yr/36,000mi (unless you can pursuade them its drivetrain
On the tranny issue, i think your good. 5yr/60,000mi
Good Luck

You could have the dealer call one of the local Nissan dealerships and have them print out the service history. When I got mine it had only 5k miles on it and the dealer said all that was done was the 1st oil change.
No problems at all here!! I hope I didn't just jinx myself!!
Hope you find your Z soon and become part of the family.

well guys i just found out from a friend that even if there never was a warranty on the used car, that one can be purchased from certain dealerships. ..
is this true? has anyone ever done anything like this before?
