Default Chrome Grill Inserts

Does anyone have these chrome grill inserts? I like the way they look over any other grill but they look cheap. Could someone tell me how good these are if they have them on there 350z.

Im pretty sure that is what they call the 5$ grill mod. Go to pep boys or autozone and buy some chrome door molding. Cut it to fit over your stock grill. Alot of guys around here have that mod. Personally, I would spend 100+$ and get a propper grill from Billet or stillen. BEN

It might be the cheap grill, but you'd be amazed how many compliments I get on my $2 grill

I hate beeing that guy that says it, but here goes.. Search Function!! I say this because I have read 2 or 3 in the past that give real good detail on install, tips and tricks, and where and how much to pay. Try using key words like, chrome grill strips, grills, pep boys, chrome door trim, etc. Good luck man. BEN

Try this one:

Mine have been on for over two years now and still look great and have never come loose. I have been known to wash my car once or twice as well.

I like the wrap-around look. Just use a zip-tie on each end & cut off excess & hide it in the back corner. Not noticeable at all.

Im such a nice guy that i went ahead and did the search for you...this is something i wrote up about this from way back. Just an update though ive had mine on for probably 1.5-2 years now and they look the same as when i put them on. And ive had no problems with them coming loose. and my cars a daily driver.....

I did mine almost a year ago and they still look good, one thing i will say about the door edge guard grill is that if you do a half assed job on it it will definitly look half assed. If you take your time, cut the strips to the right length and make sure they are really stuck on well it will look good. The kind i used was a semi flexible polyurethane with the chrome on the outside and sticky inside. I heated the edges of each strip up with a hairdryer(dont heat up too much or it will mess up the chrome) then i bent the ends to go all the way to the edge of the grill(if you look at your grill the 3 lines go in at the edges) the edges werent staying stuck too well even after bending and heating them up so i just wrapped each edge with a black zip tie(about 50 cents for all 6). it sounds a little complicated but i went through a little trial and error so anyone who wants to do it i think this is the best way. by the way the zip ties arent even visible. youll see what i mean by the edges of the stock grill going in at the ends. some peoples i have seen neglected to go all the way to the edges with the chrome cause they didnt want to bend it or whatever and it didnt look very good. I tried that at first too and it looked half assed. the zip ties are really key though.

you can sort of see what im talking about in this pic. some people stopped where it starts to bend. you gotta go all the way

I love the $5 grill. Looks better than any of the other grills IMO. A lot of them look like electric shavers or cheese graters.

That website pisses me off. Trying to pass off door edge for a grill. They list these "kits" for every car on the market almost. They also offer 2 options, made in use and made in germany. It's the same damn thing! They just charge over $40 for the "german" one. people that do sh*t like that **** me off so bad.
