Meanwhile, I'd enjoy Z as a weekend toy since you will have 500hp beast as a daily driver. There are several M5's in Korea and heard that it's one hell of a car. (even faster than E55 in 1/4miles and beyond, based on many street drag stories.)
Anyways i would only keep the m3 for 2 - 2 1/2 years max. Once the new m3 and 997tt come out i will be looking into those.

Does anyone know when the E90 m3 is coming out?
BTW, thanks for all the replies.

I did test drove the 02 M3 SMG. Its a luxurious car with muscle. I just didn't like the sound of the engine note. Not aggressive sounding at all.Costing more than 20k over a Z is too much. Now wheres my TT Z Nissan?

Black on black wheels (19+ and polished lip) convertible w/ removable hardtop

It is actually quite a different car though (apples&oranges)

The ride of a bimmer is distinct very tight but comfortable

But If You Can Afford The M3, Repairs, Service, I Say Get It.
Oh yeah you don't pay for oil changes with Bimmers so just lease it for three years and all but tires and brakes are no money out-of-pocket.

It was either a used Laguna Seca M3 off ebay (I found one in FL) or a new Z, decided on the Z!

They're obviously priced far apart so that's the first thing. As far as feel, power, interior ,..etc. it's a matter of taste and what you like better. The thing I love about my Z is that I can pull up to any intersection and get more looks. You're not losing anything by getting a Z. My last car was a 2005 C5 Vette and previous to that was a 99 M3....I don't miss either one of them. It's all opinion as you can see. I LOVE my Z and I DO drive it with an attitude and I do stare those others down like I have the better car cause I do!

Well i drove an smg and stick m3 today, both belonged to my good friends. I drove them both many times in the past but i wanted to drive them again just to make sure. I like the SMG, its not perfect but its close to it. I would get a stick becasue my m5 will be smg. My M3 would be exactly 60k, thats with the competition package (droool!!!), stick, nav, audio, moonroof, heated/auto seats, xenon, parking sensors, BMW assist..... pretty much every possible option. If the E90 were to come out in 3-4+ years i would jump on this M3 in a heart beat, but once the e90 comes out my m3 would dive in value and my heart would ache for an E90. So i decided to keep my Z and wait a few years to see the new e90 and/or the new 997tt. It would be too hard to sell my Z with only 24,000 miles on her anyways!!!

Thanks Bro I have been lucky to drive and own some amazing cars and i still LOVE my Z. That shows a lot about the Z. When i first bought the Z i thought i would drive it for a year or two, get bored of it and then upgrade. That did not happen at all. The 350Z is a car that Nissan should be really proud of.

I'm a big fan of the M3 too, and with the competition package they now offer its a real sweet ride, although with nearly double the price of a Z when you start getting into options. If i had the bank, it would have been M3 for my choice. Although in 07 they will have the next gen version packing a 400hp v8, and we all know this car is going to seriously haul ***.

Yep, thats what i am waiting for. The E90 will be a V8, and if a straight 6 can produce 333 hp in an iconic car, i CANNOT WAIT to see what a v8 will do. However, i may pass on the e90 if i still have my M5 and i may look into another car. Maybe a Porsche or maybe even the GTR!! Its gotta be a daily driver though, and i know that the M3 will be just that. I guess we will have to wait and see, many new and amazing cars are coming out and i for one am excited.

I've been riding the same thought train as you .. the urge for something different.

I checked out some used R34 GTR's and NSX's here ... nice and pricey. However, there are so many new models coming out over the next two years. Also, I only have about 16,000 miles on the Z clock after almost 2 1/2 years. Soooo .. I'm planning to wait a few more years and enjoy the Z -- unless some great deal comes along.

Glad you're staying. Reggi !

The m3 looks dated. As much as I used to love them, I saw two of them at autoX. They just don't do much for me naymore. Now the new m3/m4 coupe coming out. That might rock. I have yet to find an actual production version picture yet.

I drove one in the pre-Z test driving frenzy. It was a sweet car, but I kept staring at the price tag going "it's just not worth THAT much $" Just MHO of course.

The $80 oil change is expensive, but it last 15k on my friends 328 (guessing its the same on the M3), I think this is a really good deal compaired to having to change it every 3k at 20 bucks a pop!!

My g/f just bought a new M3 about a month back. It's a blast to drive and the interior is really luxurious. But for me personally, the beauty of the Z lies in it's raw simplicity.
