Seeing from your sig, you have an MY05. If you just got it recently (<6 months), why didn't you just get a red or blue and save yourself a few g's instead? Just curious.

Depends on the quality and the extent you want to go..
A good one anywhere from 4000-12000 depending on where you live..

For a GOOD paintjob that gets into the engine bay, door sills, etc., I'd bet no less than 6 or 8K. Just the painting and install of my Vizage kit and CF hood was almost 3K. Good paint jobs are expensive....

Oh, and since you're going for the Vizage kit, here's a teaser for ya!

Yep, to get a factory finish paint job you have to pull everything out of the car, engine, trans, interior, everything! I know a paint shop that did a brand new Jag a custom color, total:$10,000
You would be better off ordering the color you want and trade yours in.

This just does not make sense to me. Why didn't you just drive to another dealer and get the color you really wanted. Anyways, I would say if you are going to do it, do it right. Like was stated above, it will probably cost about $10,000 to look factory. If you really want Daytona Blue, it would be better to trade it in.

If your going to spend $8000 +/- for custom paint come up with a unique custom color. Spending that kind of money for a "stock" color just does not make sense.

+1 Come up with a unique color. If DB's what you want absolutely trade in, buy your kit & paint to match. You'll save yourself several thousand dollars, or more.

I drove 1.5 hours to get the exact color I wanted. If you live in the Dallas area there has got to be more than one Nissan Dealer, if not do a locate. It is not too late you will lose maybe $2000 on a trade in of you silver Z (assuming its uner 3k miles) for a DB Z.
2k is far less than 10k+
This is just a guestimate b/c I am not sure what you paid for the car. You could have paid 1k over STICKER for all i know. Seems like money isn't an object w/you.
I used to work with my uncle during summer breaks @ an auto body shop he owns. We are talking serious money for what you want. IF you can find someone who will even want to do the work. It is a big job. Most shops have a steady amount of work, and wont take the risk of doing a 3wk job to mess things up. Not to mention most shops have not taken an entire Z part before, its all new to them. Don't become a guinea pig the car will endup molested.
I would say maybe talk your dad into helping you w/ a turbo kit

Find another color (other than stock) and be different for that amount of $

I was thinking twighlight blue or athens blue for my Z later on down the road. I really wanted those colors to begin with, but are only offered on the G35C. I think those would be great blue colored options that wouldn't be stock to the car.
