Default Questions about front license plates

Do you get demerit points taken off your driving record for a no front license plate ticket, causing an increase in car insurance payments? Also, what is the pay range for a no front license plate ticket?

ive had mine off my civic for 3 years. never got a ticket or anything for it. its techinicaly illegal but a lot of cars dont even come with it (ie. vettes). its probably just a fix it ticket. $10 at most probably. just make friends with a cop who can sign em off.

Okay, so the way I understand it is, getting cited for not having a front plate will go down as a fix-it ticket. So if I just pay off the ticket every single time I get one, my car insurance will not suffer. Also, I assume this is the same with having tinted windows. If I get ticketed for tinted windows, I just pay it and I will be fine, no increase in car insurance. Someone please correct me if I am mistaken.

I don't have a Z yet, but right now I'm trying to learn everything I can like everybody else on these boards. If having no front plate and illegal tints raises my car insurance, I will be hesistant to break the law. But, if these cases just result in fix-it tickets that I can just pay off and that do not bring up my car insurance, then I will be willing to break the law for the sake of a better-looking Z.

Thanks all

I got a ticket for $70 here in Ohio for no front plate. No points on your record for the first offense; just a fix-it. Sure it'll be a lot higher the second time.

That sucks, Rae. Are you suggesting that if it happens again, next time you will get points on your record?

yeah, its only 10 bucks if the cop is nice and checks correctable. otherwise 100 or so. Not only that but its just a DUMB reason to get pulled over for. get the zee bracket or make your own. its just not worth not having one on here in cali.

You probably don't venture out into SF too often, huh?
