Mexitaliano/Ledferd,

Allow me introduce myself. My name is Kimiyasu Nakamura, and I am in charge of all vehicle design engineering in Japan for Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. For the 2006 model year Z, we currently plan on implementing a slight interior update, along with the changes you mentioned in the beginning of this thread! I am unsure where you got your information, but you are indeed a true sleuth. I commend you on your handy work. One feature that has not been mentioned thus far is that the increased hp will be realized with the introduction of our new motor, specifically designed for the US demographic: A Twin Turbo v1200 which provides 45 thousand bhp!

Bottom line, I hope Nissan ALWAYS improves their products. But even if a "new" model has more power and additional shiny things, if is not going to make me sell/trade my current car (not yet anyway). More power is already at hand through numerous aftermarket suppliers and I still didn't install that stuff (yet). Since the 300hp mini-van is not an uncommon site, I think it is only natural that EVERYTHING improves over the model run and I don't care if that is 2 months or 2 years. Just my $.02

Obviously this thread is winding down now, regardless of whether it was true or not I had fun here. Thanks for all the flux capacitor, tire rotating, car flying jokes. It made my time here at work fly by. So all jokes aside, it would be nice to see this 06 Z you speak of, but I really don't see it happening. No hard feelings.

Uh, the Z31 was around prior to 87 and other than a slight change in the rear bumper there were no significant changes in the car.

I've found that the worse place to hear false rumors is from a Nissan employee at a dealership. There are very few that know anything about future changes and I think those few that do are on this forum (performance, etc.) so unless we hear this type of news from one of them I'll continue to doubt info from others.

But seriously, i think we all got owned by this mexitalino guy for making us waste our time on this thread instead of looking at the interesting threads in off-topic.

When I first started shopping for my Z, I mentioned to the salesman that my first car was a '73 240Z. He said, "I had one of those, it was a great car!". When I asked what year, he said '89. What a moron. I then explained to him the difference between a 240Z and a 240SX and told him that I would not buy a 350Z from a salesman who didn't know the history of the car, or from a dealership that would hire him.

Yea I love it when I go in for service and ALL of the sales guys go "Wow, what color is that?" I got that even after I first bought it. I'm like, wait a minute, aren't you supose to know? I also get "Nice Track Model" because of the Ray's when it's obvious that I don't have Brembo's. They also want to know where I bought my calipers which are painted with JDV Graphics Nissan (f) & 350Z (r) decals on them.

I just shake my head.

Thats kinda harsh dont you think?
its easy to just hear 240 when you say 240Z...

Fred..

PS: I owned an S13 (early 240) that would smoke all stock Z'sTT's and quite few non stock ones even today.
They are definetly worthy cars, also a friend of mine ( RIP Paul....) used his S14, to go viper and crotch rocket hunting

i dont even want to start on a dealer i dealed with, long story short: since when did car dealerships start hiring jackasses straight out of prison, this guy was the biggest idiot, i felt like i was buying a sack of weed and not a car, this guy was so rude and tried to haggle and never even talked to his sales manager, needless to say i didnt buy a car from him...
