best alignment spec to avoid feathering?
recently lowered my car with tanabe gf springs. been lucky with feathering issues, didnt have it until 13000 miles. Just got a set of new so3. Want to find out the best spec to aligned my car that will minimize feathering until i get coilovers. thanks guys, help will be appreciated.
well first advive is go to an alignmant shop who does it the old school way, all manually. no lasers. I just installed the nf 210's and i have no toe and maxed out adjustments for camber front and rear. im at -1.5* camber front and -1.75* camber in the rear. basically the less camber you have the better youll be as far as tire wear. So see what your max adjustments are and go from there. a good # for decent wear and good handling will be somewhere around -1.25 and -1.5 front and probably the same for the rear.
i agree, the more positive (in spec) you run your camber the less feathering you will see. also get your toe as close as possible to "0", favoring the "in" setting if you cant get it to "0", leaving no toe out. the less agressive camber causes less inner tire edge wear. the heavier wear is where the feathering starts to show 1st......these 2 settings together are the only known adjustments to date that appear to help the feathering. too bad we dont have caster adjustment!
