i have a nismo cold air intake installed.. and i was wondering how good the bypass valve works... i got caught in the rain the other day and i was worried that about hydrolocking.. what are the chances of that happening.. and how well does the bypass valve work?

Bypass valve doesn't work very well. It might stop you from hydrolocking your car, but it won't stop water from hitting your MAF or getting in your engine. I don't run it on my car. You have to fully submerge the filter for the bypass valve to open up and by that time you probably already have some water in your engine.

Agreed. I don't have a bypass valve and I've driven in crazy rain storms. Just don't submerge your car in deep water and you'll be fine.

No problem. The real reason I didn't run mine is I don't like the way it looks and it is made of plastic and I broke the last one I had on my Civic hatch.
