Got "Smoked" by a Civic !!!!!!!!!!!
I don't know about you guys but I used to be on the honda bandwagon. Turbo, built, yada yada yada. I ended up with around 400hp to the wheels. More than can be used on the street. It was a great car and I would race anything on the street. I did however.....grow up.... I grew tired of the ricers. Sometimes you just want to go to the damn store without being challenged to a race or some ricer fly-by. When I was searching for a new car, it was going to be the z, sti, evo or s2000. I picked the z for its look and status. I figured the other ones were ricer magnets. Eventually you get a little older and realize the car needs to reflect your age.

We're constantly taunting each other.
i get these guys all the time!! pisses me off really. it takes a bit more than loud exhaust (+3hp) and cai (+2-3) and stickers (-6hp) to beat these cars even stock. i race them all too so i can hopefully save another Z guy the trouble. everytime they pull back up and say "dam that thing is fast, what did you do to it!?!?!" i just say "i put gas in it!!" i know there are some fast ones out there and luckily i have not met one before putting on an ati kit first. but still a few cars out there that would beat it. so now doing a forged bottom end and tt to make sure i never lose. i can't wait for the next ricer, vette, porsche, or anything that pulls up at a light hearing mine at idle and wants to race!! even had a guy rev his motor at me in my 720hp vette with him in a prelude. i revved mine and dam near broke his windows out!! another time had a guy in a older nova want to race the vette, and he believed he won, guess he didn't notice the smoke pouring off my tires for a full block when he was right next to me, hahaha. i can appreciate people who have the racing and go fast spirit, but please have something fast if you are trying to intimidate others with your free revs!
You know what gets me being in this game you guys talk about you'd rather loose in your Z than win in a Honda. Me personally I would rather not loose to anything I don't care what I am driving even if it was a pinto. This tells me most of you are more concerned about that stature (you think your car brings) of your car and are no more concerned or into the sport than sitting on your couch while watching Horse Power TV and eating cheetos. Yeah you may have an exhaust and some nice wheels and maybe even a cold air intake but what good is it when there are just as many of you who are "POSER's" as there are in the Honda World just giving each other a bad name at your own expense. I mean seriously what good does this post do really
so... i'm poser because, i once owned a honda, loved it, liked the scene, saved up a lot money, decided to get into a superior automobile once i could afford it, bought a z because i loved the way it drove and was stoked to be apart of the z history. and i have been in the market to buy an additional, older z (240z or 280z) so that i can have some fun in the scca events on an amateur level.
but because i've been on both sides of the coin and i love my z enough to say that i'd rather lose a race in it and still be apart of it, than be in my old beloved honda and win, according to you - i'm a poser?
that makes no sense - and your broad generalization of most of the members in this thread and of this board, shows that you missed the point the what most of us were trying to say in this thread, but thats cool, to each their own. but before you assume that none of us are interested in the sport of driving beyond flaming lesser cars than what we perceive ours to be and the daily commute, please use some proper punctuation so i dont need to take some asprin to figure out that you're trying to call me a poser.
edit: whoa. i just read my post - i didnt realize i got interent rage so much there. i worked all weekend at the office, so no weekend. my point still applies though.

no, but you did start off your post by quoting something that i have in my sig - so you can see why i would have thought you were directing some of your comments at me.
i dont believe anyone ever mentioned anything about the quality of honda's engineering. i think everyone would agree that they squeeze a good amount of power out of their 4's, and that the car is greatly mod friendly due to the large aftermarket available. i dont think most of the posts in the thread are looking at honda's engineering, but honda's performance (in the general sales range at least). whether you're a honda fan or not (like i was and am), you have to admit that there are cars in a like price range/class that will out preform them, although they may not be constructed as well (some of them are, others are not), or as you mentioned, engineered as well, they still have superior performance. this situation exists for nearly every car (for the exception of rare/elite cars/supercars).

But when people display how smart they really are by making ignorant stereo typical remarks as the one above you have to start thinking I mean wow How much can they know. Buy the way I still drive my Honda Fresh K20a swap, Hondata, Hasport and custom intake with stage 2 axles. So let me say I do apologize to those that I may have offened. Yes clearly the Z is in a different price range. But it is no were near superior to Honda's engineering or any other for that matter.
I agree... Honda Engineering is far superior to those dudes that try to do it on their own. So Civics are not retarded, but the guy who thinks he can tune a lil 4 banger better than Honda is.

I agree with Rabbid and Lane, I was a ricer in my day and I have nothing bad to say about that experience. It may depend on where you lived growing up. I'm in San Diego and this was THE "hot spot" of Street Racing. If you lived here you would've had a blast. Be honest now because we've all seen "Fast and The Furious." Although the actual racing wasn't like that where you race for like 2-3 minutes, but the crowd capacity was like that if not more. Plus we have about 5 tracks here all going off at the same time. If you have never experienced this then you have no idea. Wow...just had a slight flash back...too bad I got a racing ticket at 17. Anyway I'm 24 a lil older now so I bought a Z to kinda express my age and newly found taste in life. I don't think it's cool to look down on people, I mean c'mon to the Vette and E46 guys we're the ricers.
LET THE FLAMING BEGIN!!!

You must drift a lot and not post anything seeing that you've been on the boards since march of last year and only have 18 posts. You've been here longer than I have. LOL
