Default 2005 Z with Rev-match Autobox?

Please post your impressions on the capability of the new downshift rev-matching autobox...BUT ONLY IF YOU HAVE ACTUALLY DRIVEN ONE. (I don't want a tirade about autobox vs manual.) /B

Downshifts in the 5AT does take a little getting used to even with the rev matching. The rev matching feature will actually hold the gate open for a split second while rev matching and some people at first might find that disconcerting. You mentioned in your other post that you felt that downshifts were a little awkward. Manually downshifting the 5AT is something that you sort of learn and just get a feel for. But, not to worry, the tranny will not let you stall and it will protect itself by not letting you over rev for long. So, go ahead and drive it hard while you are learning.
