Z pulling a trailer
It really disgusts me. This is not a 'to each their own' situation. It is gratuitous and a violation of everything sacred to the Z heritage. Additionally, if it wasn't made an option from the dealer then it is not acceptable. I'd be curious to see if the tech notices this when the drivetrain needs to be warrantied.
To vent further when I was at the dealer buying my Titan a young man I vaguely know was on the tale end of a New '05 Base Redline purchase. I wasn't peaking around the lot more than 5 minutes when I spotted a '04 CS Track with only 7800 miles (LoJack and Touring leather seats) for 27,800
I grow tired quickly of the saturation of 'image purchases' with no appreciation of the Z's history (or LSD).

Towing capacities are there.
Obviously none of you spend any time in the Road Racing/Autox topic...

A small trailer for taking tires and tools to the track is a great idea. I'd do it if my '88 Supra didn't already have a hitch...

People always act holier than thou every time somebody brings up a trailer for a Z because it is not using a sports car for it's purpose. Me, I'd love to have a good setup to tow some race tires/wheels to the races, to really use the car for it's intended purpose

I'll probably be doing the trailer thing this winter in prep for next year's season (would do it this year, but will be swamped once july gets here)

Don't have a big SUV, and the trailering capacity of my Syclone probably isn't much higher than the Z's.
I've got 4 vehicles, but none of them are big enough to tow my Z. A couple hundred pounds of tires or so plus a light trailer isn't much more than two fat passengers and luggage

Everybody:
Its has <nothing> to do with not using the car for its purpose.
a unibody car with a isolated rear subframe assembly <will> damage itself towing anything over acouple hundrds lbs for any distance.
The powertrain has no problem towing, its the body that will be damaged.
even tho undibody cars sometimes have piublsihed ratings one should <only. use a body on frame car/trukc/ to tow.

I agree with Bubble. It's his car, let him do what he wants to with it, as we do with ours. Me it's aps tt jwt cams and power, but it's my car. Some like stock, some like hp some like.......... trailers.....so what's the big deal. Of course, I wish it could have been a cool looking trailer.....
I would never do it, and just think it is dumb. But sometimes you have to do what you have to do, and if it means using your sports car as a trailer tower, then so be it! Everyone one has opinions and ********....or how ever that goes.
