haha your being biased I'm sure you wouldn't turn down the keys to a lambo

so you can sell it and buy 120398102938 350z's!!!

haha jk I love my Z, although a lambo wouldn't hurt.

Not sure I agree with that.

Look at the competitor to the Z, the Mazda RX-8
It has an Optional Power sliding-glass moonroof and except for the 'muscle' category, it outperforms the Z.

Phoeniz,AZ - No wonder you like Convertables.

A sun roof is the one option that I wished was offered on this car.
Almost all of the cars I have ever owned have had a sunroof of some type and yet I rarely ever used them during the middle of the day because the sun is unbearable.
These types of things (rag tops, sun roofs) are good for early morning and at night.

A question: If the top is not as rigid with a sun roof, then how does the convertable Z deal with loss of body integrity?

5 bucks says that a sun roof becomes available as a option in the 2006 Coupe.

lol, You can't compare it that way. A s2000 doesn't even have a top (convertable) and outperforms the Z in turns, what we are trying to say is that the Z would be less stiff if it did infact come with a sunroof. Those other cars have a whole 'nother build. They are lighter, have different suspension, the chasis is designed differently, and a lot of other factors also come into play. You don't see any convertable Z's out on the professional tracks, only on the private levels (and if convertable is to be on the track, they either have hardtops or throw their tops up, if it allows, some peoples helmets don't fit inside with the top up). To make a long argument short, your fighting a losing battle no matter how you want to look at it. A sunroof is a luxury option and it doesn't help performance in anyway, they are only good for your own pleasures. The sunroof might not make such a big difference to the point where our daily driving would be affected but it does weaken the top as glass bends on hard turns and a stiff top would stay rigid.

I also don't understand why people are complaining, I'm sure they knew the car didn't come with a sunroof when they bought it, if you guys really want it that bad I say you guys go out and get a custom one installed or switch to a car that comes with a sunroof.

We knew it was not available but that does not mean we can't complain.
If you don't complain then nothing ever changes.

If Nissan knows that folks want such an option then perhaps it will show up on the '06 model.

Actually they don't, it saves weight where it matters most, near the top of the car.

i wouldn't mind just a glass roof... kinda like on the 04 maximas... doesn't necessarily have to open (for obvious reasons) - but it would definaetly make the inside a lot roomier...

btw, that Targa Z posted up above... HOT

Looks really nice - the sun roof I mean as the car goes without saying.

No issues with it wacking the tailgate?
How big is the hole in the roof?

Can you post a closer up shot from above?

Mind telling what the model of the roof and what it cost to have it installed?

I don't think everyone's complaining, just pondering on the reasons why Nissan chose not to go with a sunroof.

I can care less for one, but I do miss the aero-diffusion effect it has that keeps air from getting forced into the side windows, at high speeds.

get an aftermarket sunroof and kill the rigidity? no thanx...
plus the weight on roof will raise the car's center of gravity...

NOT REALLY complainin' or b*tchin'....just an observation...as in ..."didn't Nissan think that people MIGHT want a sunroof, targa top, whatever with the Coupe...and then further designed the car based on that?"

And yes....I did notice that it didn't have a sunroof....jesus christ, dawg...

I really don't like sunroofs. For one thing, they don't fit on the Z. For another, here in L.A. it would be more like a smog port.

EDIT: And I almost always bump my head on cars with sunroofs.

He's talking about the roof mounted Curtain air bags, not the seat bags.

No, they brought out the roadster model as an alternative instead. The Z has enough options/models to choose from already IMO. FYI, some of it's major competitors only come one way...

I hate sunroof's, and very glad the Z does not have one... Just another thing that breaks and gets dirty and very hard to keep clean.
