Question Stripping panels inside Z?

Hey guys,
I'm thinking of temporarily (want to be able to replace the panels later if necessary) taking off the cover for the rear strut bar, the inside of the trunk/hatch. I was just wondering if anyone had done this and if anyone had any advice. Thanks!

It's not hard, just be very careful as you go about pulling the panels off. There are many little plastic clips that can break (not a big deal ~$2 a pop) or the tabs on the panels (bigger deal, the trim pieces are between $30-130 to replace). Go very slowly and try not to force anything. You will have to replace some of the clips, don't be upset when they break. The trim on top of the strut bar that says Z on it is the most brittle of all the pieces.

Now, I've been pretty hardcore on taking weight out of my Z, but taking the rear interior out for this purpose is not worth it. I'd say the whole set weighs less than 7 pounds and dramatically increases the noise level. Now mind you, I've stripped all the sound deadening out of my car (with dry ice) and even I couldn't stand having the interior out while I was waiting for all the clips I ordered to come in it was that loud.
