break in?
i seem to remember when i bought the car the guy told me in 500 miles im suposed to come in to get the oil changed, calling up to scheduel this to be done quickly turned into nissan maintence clearly says 3k miles i said ok and hanged up.
Is my memory messed up or did the guy not knwo what he was talking about.
Im going to assume my memory is messed up.

Your post is pretty incoherent. But, it sounds like you were turned down for an oil change... what's the problem? Just pay and get it done if you want to. What service dept. would turn you down for some easy money like an oil change?
It can't hurt to change it once or twice during break in.

ok will repeat what i said.
I remember the dealer telling me at 500 miles get oil changed.
I called to scheduel a oil change asking if i was correct 500 miles i get it changed, i was told no i dont have to, only 3,000 miles or 3months.
So now im wondering is my memory incorrect?
never mind i was confused it doesnt need any oil change hehe.

I know I've seen a thread in repairing forums I think where someone had the oil chemically tested at 500 miles and there was a high level of Silicon (the element) in the oil. This is most likely from sand blasting during manufacturing...sand is primarily SiO2
Since sand is very hard, these tiny grains of sand will scratch the inside of your cylinders microscopically, which clearly won't help performance down the line.
It definitely couldn't hurt to get the oil changed. Now, synthetic versus regular oil is a different story, and I don't want to get into it.
