Default Tire wear issue, need help fast

I just put a down payment on a 2005 350Z. Anyboy know if the 2005 has tire wear issues? I am buying this car for a somewhat reliable commuter, so if I am going to have to replace tires every 10,000 miles I will not be buying it.

They're not supposed to and not even every pre '05 has tire feathering either. my '03 touring does not even have this problem. So don't worry about it you should be fine. by the way, try using the search feature sometime works wonders. Not even the search for God's sake, look at the first page of these forums!!!! Lordy lord =/

hey kcstage,

There's wayyy too many stories like this. Check out the Alignment Problem thread at the top of the forum thread list. Read that and you may get a better idea of comparisons between all years and tire feathering problems. I've heard both sides. Some 05 owners have had no problem, some have and some 03/04 owners got one alignment and no problems since. I'm not defending Nissan here, but, a soft compound tire (140 treadwear rating) combined with a front to rear stagger in wheel size and the spirited driving these vehicles inspire may all contribute to what folks would consider premature tire wear because they are used to driving vehicles with a very much higher tire treadwear rating, under which a tire will last a lot longer.

See my post under "Sad Story". It categorizes the root cause of some tire wear patterns.

One other thing to add: You can't chalk all tire problems up to Nissan workmanship or design. Some folks drive hard, others bang the curbs in parking lots or have hit a nasty hole in the pavement, all of which can contribute to alignment problems and premature wear.

And finally, kcstage: You win the raffle prize. This is my 100th post on these forums.

The check is in the mail. LOLOLOL
