So i noticed when I got to work this morning I have a dime size crack in the bottom drivers side corner of the windshield and was curious whether or not you guys think it will spread or if its prolly ok? I DONT wanna have to get a new windshield if i dont have to. Is there glass glue or something that the pros use in this scenario?
thanks in advance

I'll tell you, but you'll have to give me your Volks! That has to be the sweetest design in existence. IMHO
Any glass shop should be able to tell you for sure, but I think they'll drill the edge of the crack and put in a filler that you won't be able to see. It shouldn't be too expensive ($50?). My insurance covers it for free.
I haven't experienced it, but I've heard that once in a while the drilling creates an instant "spiderweb" of cracks in the windshiled and you have to replace the whole thing then. The other choice is to live with the crack and watch it grow though.

if you have comprehensive coverage and the crack can be fixed without replacing the windshield the repair will probably be free to you. All major insurance companies wave the deductible for this.

well my luck the last 2 week has gotten EVEN BETTER..(not)...went outside at 12 and the dime crack is now 12 inches long. Need a new windshield now $300 for PPG glass installed.....****
It will keep spreading, but grab some clear nail polish and dab it on the critical points that are spreading. This slows the cracking down a little bit, until you replace it.
I've heard of people using nail polish on little cracks, and they were lucky enough not to experience any spreading at all. I've done it on previous cars, and it worked.

We were driving to florida in my friends Z a couple years back and a big *** rock hit his windsheild.... it left the crack about the size of a quarter. he never got it fixed because it was kinda pricey (in his opinion). but yea i think you should just leave it and see if it grows.
Sorry to hear about the crack... Same thing happened to me. On the way to work it happened, and was only a small nick. By the end of the day it had spread 18". Its now about 24" long and quit spreading. Thankfully it's across the pasanger side... i can wait a bit before fixing it.
Got hit by a small rock on my miata (******* semi driving on left lane
) It was still a little chip until the next afternoon, it spread to about 12" long and I don't think it's repairable.
