Default Garage Floor

Since winter is very close and I'm expecting to get a Z in March I thought it would be a good time to add something to make the garage floor a little better. I did this about 3 weeks ago and it's held up well.

Is that that epoxy stuff? I was thinking about doing that? Looks nice; how easy is it to apply?

Default epoxy

It was real easy. It was $100 to do a 2 car garage(2 kits). My only piece of advice is to do 8 small sections for each car garage(each kit). Also they give you a big bag of glitter type material. I put that material in 8 ziploc bags so I would use the right amount.
I've heard some people have had issues with hot tires burning through the paint but I haven't experienced that. I drove 300 plus miles averaging about 85-90 MPH and drove straight into the garage with no problem. We'll see if the Z tires get hot enough to burn through the paint.

My ucoatit kit was about $900! It was a kit and a half plus an extra half kit of clearcoat.

the ucoatit kit uses 2 coats of an epoxy base, sprinkle vinyl flakes and aluminum oxide on the top coat, then a couple coats of clear urethane. Doesn't peel or stain at all. I've done epoxy from home depot before but it didnt stand up too well, had some peeling.

less expensive, integrated clear coat:

Talking come on

In case everyone isn't a big football fan. This Hawkeye fan is bitter because we've beat them 5 years in a row in football.

Actually the Hawks are a very good team and we cought them at a weak moment. If ND screws UI there will be a real uproar.

Yea, Brad Banks had a thumb spasm.

Iowa secured a BCS bowl early this week. So now we are in the rose bowl vs USC or Wash. St.

If UCLA beats Wash St. then we play USC. If not we play Wash St.

The *epoxy* is what prevents hot tire pickup....you should never have a problem. It's people who use regular paint on the floor of their garages that experience problems.
