Default Need some tips on first car show appearance.

hey guys. I'm going to my first car show next weekend (June 25th) here in Vancouver. I know that my car is not modified as much as some people here, but I just wanna try it out. Just want to see if there are any tips or tricks of the trade anyone can give me for my first car show. Right now it's still in the shop for the full Alpine install. It's going to have a custom trunk, but very clean and simple. Well that goes with the entire car anyways.

anyways I'm going to wash my car tomorrow after I get my car back, and put on as many coats of zaino as I can until the show. Any more tips or tricks to get some extra points from the judges would be appreciated. Thanks!

Got any plans for cleaning the engine bay? If so, what are you going to do?

That is a huge point in a car show.

well it's still pretty clean given that I just got the car 3 weeks ago and she's barely seen rain. But I will wipe down all the visible parts I guess...

Thanks for the tip! Anything else?

make your mods sound "Better and more Custom" than they are... elaborate a bit, make it sound written up - having a nice plaque (print + laminate) of the mod list, some nice pics of the car... having a nice display makes the car look a lot better rather than when it's on its own

is the show outdoors, indoors dark / light room? if it's in a dark room, i defianetly suggest having some interior neons and some strobelights (45watts, can be purchesd at CDN Tire for about $50) in your wheel wells. smoke machines with tubes guiding the smoke to where it should go make it hot as well... include a lazer somewhere if you're using smoke (also can be purchased at C.Tire for about $50) - - - if you don't have too much to show off in the engine bay, don't have the hood open all the way, have it propped up by something (since you don't have any trophies YET, use the mod list plaque I mentioned earlier or your favorite Quick Detailer - they're rather easy and handy in keeping Z hoods slightly open)

as for the cleaning / shinning up ::: use tire gel on tires / make sure all metal details are spotless / don't over kill on the Armorall interior cleaning b/c a) you're car's gonna smell like *** later b) it's gonna look like a used car dealership / make sure your windows are spotless / any door jams, engine bay, trunk area are spotless / use a bit of tire gel on any rubber (but make sure you whipe it off before the end of the show b/c you won't want that stuck in your windows) / clean your wheel wells... you get the drift right?
