Any Tire Feathering related maintenances after two years will be on your dime. I just got mine done. It was recommended that Michelins Pilots were the best choice for replacement tires. It seems that their thread pattern along the edge of the tire is resistant to feathering. Hmmm!

What does tire feathering look like? My Z makes hella noise when crusing on a perfect street and even more noise when braking. Its not just the constant "roar" sound... there's also a rythmic thumping sound to it also. But my Nismo rims are flawless.. no dents, ect, and my car drives straight when I let my hand off the wheel. Anybody got some good pictures of feathered tires?
