I just put 1000 miles on my z and the guy at the dealership said I have to get the oil changed. Is this normal or is it 1200miles for the first oil change and is it coverd buy nissan because I rather do it my self.

As long as you do it yourself your fine, just save the receipts to prove you changed it. I cahnged mine at 500. 1000-1200 sounds about right.

I will do Synthetic around the 5K mark since the car will be a year old. I have 4 cases of Mobil-1 and Mobil-1 filters just waiting to be used.
