Angry Son of a *$#^@ - tire carcass and Z meet

http://www.uselessfurball.com/images/350z/zbumper
Showing the aftermath of a light truck tire meeting the front end of the Z on US 60 at about 75mph.
Wife never had a chance to react as the car in front of her hit it as well. Shoulder closed for construction and cars in lanes around her. So she chose to straddle it like I would in my Jeep. But Z clearance is not quite the 14" I have under the axles.
Taking it to the body shop today to get the repairs started.
Scary part is that I see bright metal in some places as well as what appears to be a bent rear sway bar.

DADGUMMIT!!!!

was that a pic of my car??? that just happened to my DB Z about a month ago on the 101 here in cali. I was exiting at about 5:00 in the morning and didn't even see the tire until I was almost on it. There went my $500.00 deductible and another $300.00 to replace the clear bra.

yeah, i ran over a smaller piece this weekend too, made a huge noise. I haven't checked yet, but i think it just hit the under cover. Lot more of these on the road due to the heat.

I ran over a curb once. It was a normal curb, but about 2 1/2 foot wide. Ran over the whole damn thing. F-'d up a whole lot of stuff.

Geez..what's with these cars and road debris? A week after I got mine (DB..2004), the pickup in front of me kicked up a giant metal bar that hit the front of my car and went underneath. So for 3 weeks out of the first month I owned the car, it was in the body shop. My insurance hadn't even cleared underwriter yet....but at least they were good about it.

Had a few drinks. Not enough to make me run over that curb. Was at a signal light waiting to make a left turn. The street was very dark. No street lights. When the light changed I proceeded to turn left. At the same time, my freegin' cell phone rang. I grabbed the cell and didn't make a wide enough left turn to clear the turning lane median for the cross street. Bent 3 rims. Messed up 1 tire. Jacked up my skid plate and scrapped up some of the under carriage. I repaired all the under carriage at my uncle's work shop.. Grinded and re-coated all metal parts, and repaired skid plate. Went ahead and bought new tires. It was already time for a new set. Had to get rims fixed. That was a pain in the ****. I learned my lesson. $$$$ Stupid mistake and I paid for it.

Just looked at it myself (without my rage-goggles on) and I agree. Kinda has a smirk to it, eh?

I say we protest to Ban Road Alligators!! (for those that are clueless at this point, that is the name AZ, and prolly elsewhere, had coined for the tire carcasses in the roadway... the trear resembles an alligator's back).

Car is now at the body shop and wife is stuck driving a Cavalier for the next couple of weeks. At least the owner of the shop we took it to is a friend and fellow Z owner.

EDIT: Lookin at the first pic again and I say it kinda sessy... Has that biting the lower lip thing goin on. mmm sesssay. LOL

Damn, thats some heavy damage for a tire. I hit a deer carcass the other night and my damage wasn't nearly as bad, though the tire was probably higher.
