I think you SHOULD get the base model. As I stated you will just end up replacing all of the extra junk anyway. The VLSD is a joke, VDC & TCS are unwanted by me, the Brembo brakes have been proven to add virtually nothing to the stopping power, the Bose stereo sucks, I don't care for the Nav unit so am putting in my own, I guess the Track wheels are ok but I'd still replace them with real Nismos, etc, etc, etc ad infinitum.
This is of course is just my personal opinion. I knew I was going to start modifying the car the minute I got it. Some people don't want to mess with that though. They just want the car totally decked out from the dealer. And for those that live in the colder states where you get snow and ice TCS is a life saver. So, make up you own mind based on what you want out of the car.
For me it was a steal to get a brand new Z for $25,000 with every option (except cruise control) that I wanted. Hell a comparably equiped Scion tC with a supercharger goes for $24,000 or more and doesn't have near the horsepower or looks.
Question: Do roadsters do good with 2 -3 of snow on the cloth top... How about hard rain.. unfortunately mine will be outside for one winter i havent moved to the two garage yet... heheh

Hey buddy,
I think you misread my post (and then decided to publicly insult everyone who got a touring model, otherwise known as "hating" or "flaming").

"Base model ?" I asked because he did not specify a trim, and I was curious.
"Congrats, I guess... Was aimed towards his aborted-fetus of a post, I just found it difficult to take the OP seriously when he was so over enthusiastic about the stock features of the 350z.
Example... new member says:
"Hey guys, I just got a Z (here are some pictures) just wanted to say hi!! I'm really excited!!!"
I would say:
"Congrats!"
On the contrary, someone posts "I like the little nissan logo looks like a mole kinda of a cindy crawford thing
the back looks like a ghost with evil eyes
I can live with the stock rims cuz im broke
Im thinking of doing a job on the seats to get perforated and nice for my toshy
"
and I say:
"Congrats... I guess"
The guy got a little too hyper teenage methamphetamine cocaine crazy with his post, and I couldn't bring myself to respond to it with equal enthusiasm.
You sir, are a hater/flamer and I'm sorry it pisses you off that I wanted factory leather, bose, VDC, HIDs, dare I say factory 18" rims...etc. I got the exact car I wanted and I'm sure you did too.
I think if you're into heavy modding then I agree the base model is the best choice! But I am just not that guy who strips everything off a car, so I'm quite happy with my choice thank you very much.
In short, you assumed too much. If I don't agree with someone's opinion on the forum, I'll let him/her know... but in this case you're just wrong.
