Smile finally got my z

Well everyone I just got my brand new 05 base 350z on monday . Im 17 and my dad bought it for me because he said I deserved it since I passed this standardized test in Texas and because I'm a good boy. My dad has a 280zx that he bought new and it has 300,000 miles on it and most of his friends and his brother have zs'. We got it from baker-jackson nissan south and we paid 27,000 otd and the notes are 479 a month. It is silverstone and stock but I might do a few cosmetic mods to it. I've been driving it everyday with my dad since i don't have my liscense yet but I will get them in December. I want to thank everyone who tried to help me get this great car.

Thank you and don't worry because I'm a laid back person and I have common sense unlike some of the people at my school. Plus I won't ruin this once in a lifetime chance being stupid. The speed limit is 30 on my neighborhood but i go 20 lol. Oh yeah I just started learning to driving a stick in March of this year and I learned to drive a stick before i even touched an automatic.

You passed the "standardized" test in TX and got a Z? Good for you. Who cares how you get one.

I believe the TX public school system is ranked 48th out of the 50 states. I took that test not long ago. You pretty much have to have some type of down syndrome to not pass it but even some of the "special" kids passed it too. No offense to the people that are proud to have passed it .

It changed from the time you took it. When you took it was probably called the TAAS. I passed it all the time but when I was a freshmen in Highschool they made it alot harder and called it the TAKS. The part I had problems with was the math and you might have to do 4 different things to solve one problem . When I took it the first time I failed badly. Then I took it my sophmore year and still failed but I improved but My Junior year is what counted and I had too pass in order to graduate so I took it and almost got what is called Academic Recongnition but was a few points short.

I don't have to take a driving test since I passed driving school. They will just give me a certificate to show to DPS then they just hand me my license.

off topic: Are there any Z owners on this board that live in channelview because there are 4 including mine that I see.

Dang if I had your dad, I'd have my own personal jet right now LOL! I've worked my butt off to pull straight As or as close to that as possible to get into a good grad school and all I get from my parents is a "keep up the good work" but hey I can't complain since they're still providing me with a roof over my head :P

dude you passed driving school and you dont have to take a driving test? we have to go to driving school and take the driving test lolz. It's cool thought. It's kind of weird how you guyz get to practice freshman and sophomore year with the test then have to pass it in junior to graduate from high school. We have the "Exit Exam" easy as hell.

I did take the TAAS test. Unfortunately for you, my wife is a teacher and her whole family works for the school system so I have seen the TAKS test as well. You didn't do anything for me to start insulting you and so I am not going to. I'm glad you passed. I can see why it is no wonder the TX public school system is ranked so low. It has a lot to do with illegal immigrants taking the test that don't speak English and a few other FOBs that bring the average down. This test was designed to be so easy that anyone can pass it so we can pull ourselves up in the ranking. Enjoy your Z and work hard in school. If that test gave you trouble, you may consider buying some extra textbooks from book stores and doing extra homework to get you ready for college. I think the TX public schools do a terrible job getting kids ready for college. It must be nice to be just a few minutes from H-Town raceway.
