Default Morning transmission problem

Its really weird, for the past 2 days... in the morning when i first start up the car, its nearly impossible to get the car into some gears... most importantly reverse. The car will shift into gears perfectly with the engine off, but with the engine on, i just cant shift into gear. One thing of note is... if i shift into all the gears a couple of times... leave the car in reverse, and start up the engine... i can get the car into gear a little bit easier (after a bit of a warm up) and once the car is completely warmed up and has been driven for a bit, the gears shift fine.

Any idea whats up with my tranny? Thanks in advance.

Yeah it is. Sometimes it only goes into gear halfway so I just get it back into neutral, clutch out then clutch in and get into gear. Finicky transmission.

I think the viscosity of the transaxle fluid has something to do with it when the engine is cold vs. warmm, if that makes any sense?

Yeah, mine does that too sometimes. It just takes a few seconds to warm up a little.
