Whats the most miles you have driven in a tank of gas??
Justs curious to see what the average person gets in a full tank of gas. My car sticker said 20-26 when I first bought it, but I have never had any luck getting over 4xx miles a tank.
Right now I have 425 and my display just started "----", so Im assuming I have a few miles left anyway before its dry. I think this is the highest I have gotten so far and it is mostly highway driving.
20 x 20 = 400
26 x 20 = 520
Has anyone gotten 520 miles out of a tank!?

Are you serious??
I know the Z has a 20 gallon tank, but whenever my DTE starts flashing around 30, I fillup to max 15ish gallons...
Since I'm in a ZR, the most I've gotten was around 330 or so... but if I break 300, I'm ecstatic.

When the DTE is --- there is still between 3 and 5 gallons of gas in the tank (depending on how you are driving and how the car is calculating). From what I understand the main reason the car suggests that you have --- DTE is because the in tank pump is self cooled by the gas. I think they are being extra careful that you dont burn the pump up. Other reasons are gas tank design and gas slosh.
I always say better safe than sorry. The most I have ever put in my tank was 17.5 gal on a trip in which I got 433 miles out of one tank. The DTE was --- for about 10 miles before I stopped. Last night I put 14 gallons in and the DTE was @ 20.

If VandyZ is correct about the --- meaning there is 3 to 5 gallons left of gas, I probably could break 500 miles for this tank of gas!
I think I'll take his word for it, but not risk it and go ahead and fill up though!
I have noticed when the --- displays and I fill up immediately, I can usually only get 16 to 17 gallons in.
I have been able to put in 19 a few times.

Ive also been having a problem filling up. I never seem to be able to get more than 13-14 gallons in. I found out from nissan that some early model z's have a defective shutter valvein the filler neck. Nissan has ordered the parts for me. We will see what happens.
