Default Z in my stable is long gone!!!!!

Much to my dismay, I recently sold the Z. It was a '03 CS Touring 6-spd with aero pkg. I got 21k for it from carmax which I was ok with. The car was in the shop 13 times in 11 months. Nissan customer service sucks and oh well I thought the Z was a great handling car which I'm sure I'll miss.

Any suggestion as to what I should replace it with? I live in Philly and have to deal with snow every now and then. Just wanted to get feedback as to what opinions there are out there. I'm considering a B5 S4 with the twin-turbos, boxster, audi TT, A4, and MDX for practicality. Am I missing anything?

I'm in the Philly area (S. Jerz to be exact)......Since it seems like you're considering SUV's as well....How about that new Subaru B9 Tribeca ...looks like it should be worth considering....AWD and real nice looking IMO. Maybe the Nissan Murano??

BTW...I agree with Timmy Boy...The Audi TT looks too much like a damn VW Beetle..which is girly lookin, like a ****...When I see a DUDE drivin' one, I shake my head and laugh..4 real.

The Boxster S is pretty fun to drive. I wouldn't get it if you're 5'10" or over, though. It also needs a short shifter badly. But it handles great, looks great, feels pretty fast for 260-or-whatever-it-has hp.

If you think the Z is unreliable, stear clear of any of those audi's, I've had both a B5 s4 and B6 a4, both were in the shop more than i drove it, some of the repairs were fairly substantial, good thing for warranty, if you do some searching, you will see that the B5 s4's are plagued by turbo problems and weak clutches, the B6 a4 is just flat out slow and underpowered, the boxter is definitly slow and the TT is just plain girly

A Vette in a Philly snowstorm = a call to AAA cuz you just did a 360 degree skid on Broad St. and hit a Septa Bus!

Looks like I'm going to get the '04 S4 used. Found some for some decent prices and it's got a V8, AWD, Recaros, and room for 4 maybe 5. Thanks for the input guys. Good luck with the Z's. Hopefully I can get back when the GT-R is here and I save up some money.

So you had your car in for service and fixed everything that was wrong with it just to get another car so you can potentially go through the same thing? I think you should have gottten more use out of the Z since you put so much effort into it, unless you were oing to Colonial Nissan in Feasterville, then I fully understand why you never want to have to get your Z repaired again

Man I didn't know there were so many Audi bashers out there. I have a '03 Audi A4 1.8 and I have had it for 2 years now without a single problem. Many of my other friends have the older S4 or older A4 with "NO PROBLEMS". I'm not saying german cars don't have there own problems, I can go down a list of M-B, BMW's, Ferrari's, and some japanese cars too. Aside from Toyota's and some Honda's, many cars out there have there own quirks and issues. My main problem is that with my expience with my current Audi and many service guys at various Audi dealerships, I find that they have given me better customer service. Now Customer service doesn't come cheap but that's why there are companies such as Lexus, Acura, BMW, Audi, and M-B that pay a little more attention to customer service. I know some jackass is going to give me his experiences of bad service at one of the listed dealerships but hey you're entitled to you're own opinions.

I did consider the STI because of what you get for the money. I just would have a hard time pulling up to events that I attend looking like a tuner kid (the stigma these big wing cars get).

In my opinion, if yer going from Z to SUV, the ONLY choice is a turbo Forester. At least you can still go fast in a straight line.

Audi TT, but similar to the latest one in SPEED magazine july/aug.
3.8_0-60 time slick car, IMO.

or

Boxter S, but the newest one with some grunt!
