Default "pre"production C and D test

Just wanted to say that Jman's point is an important one,, and I believe him: that the Car and Driver test was on a pre-production unit.

Having now read the article, however, I think its unfortunate that the magazine did not mention that. Especially if last miontue tuning or weight of the final production car will be slightly better, hence giving better stats than what they reported. If the weight is less, that makes it really bad since it was a main critique of the car. If the production unit is slightly lighter and they tested THAT unit, it may have lent towards a better review and even better hype for Nissan!

Personaly I don't feel the weight is really a big issue, I mean an M3 still weighs like 100lbs more and has litle trouble kicking ***. But I don't understand how the production version can be much lighter. I mean exactly where could Nissan shave off 100-200 lbs? That's a lot of weight, not something that can be gotten rid of just by redesigning the car's jackstand.

I have the same thoughts but I believe JmanZ when he states otherwise.

I still question why you would put such an inflated number in the press kit. It just doesn't make sense. Maybe C&D got it wrong. It wouldn't be the first time a number was published in error.
